KIMES 2025 recap: Global innovation, local impact

As part of our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of medical imaging technology, I had the privilege of attending the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) 2025 exhibition in Seoul, South Korea. This year’s event delivered a vibrant mix of innovation, global collaboration, and real-world solutions poised to make a lasting impact—especially for clinics across Australia. Here are a few standout moments from the trip.

Premium partnerships in motion

A major milestone from the event was finalising our new Premium Chiropractic Imaging System, developed in close collaboration with our trusted partners at DRGEM. This system, purpose-built for the Australian market, combines high-performance digital radiography with features tailored for modern chiropractic practices. More details will be announced soon.

We were also excited by the latest innovations from OsteoSys, particularly their larger-format DEXA scanner designed to better accommodate taller and broader patients. It’s a clear testament to OsteoSys’ commitment to accessibility, comfort, and inclusive care.

LG brought precision to the spotlight with their full range of Diagnostic Imaging Monitors, including advanced 12MP mammography reporting displays featuring auto-calibration technology. These displays deliver unmatched clarity and efficiency—essential for environments where diagnostic accuracy is paramount.

AI on the rise – approvals on the horizon

Artificial Intelligence continues to shift from concept to clinical standard. KIMES 2025 showcased a wide range of AI-assisted diagnostic workflows, with many vendors reporting regulatory approvals or imminent clearances across the US, EU, Korea, and Australia. These tools are rapidly becoming integral to improved efficiency, consistency, and diagnostic confidence.

The unsung heroes of imaging technology

Amid the high-profile launches, we found deep value in conversations with vendors of the small yet vital components—from cable tracts and sealed buttons to medical-grade keyboards. While these parts often go unnoticed, they play a critical role in infection control, device longevity, and operational safety. It’s a reminder that innovation lives not just in software, but in every screw and circuit behind the scenes.

The next frontier in MRI

One of the most promising breakthroughs came in the form of helium-free Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. Traditionally dependent on liquid helium for cooling, MRIs have long faced challenges related to cost, logistics, and environmental impact. These new systems could dramatically improve accessibility and sustainability in MRI technology moving forward.

Final thoughts

KIMES 2025 reaffirmed a simple truth: true innovation is practical, scalable, and focused on patient care. At Medic Cloud, we’re proud to be part of a global movement bringing the most advanced imaging solutions to clinics across Australia.

Stay tuned for upcoming product announcements and tech updates. If your clinic is ready to evolve its imaging capabilities, we’re here to guide you through the next chapter.
