We’re excited to introduce you to our revolutionary x-ray machine supplier, the DRGEM Corporation.

Based in South Korea, DRGEM x-ray machine innovation is transforming digital imaging. DRGEM manufacture diagnostic radiography machines and supply digital imaging equipment to over 150 countries.

As a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM), DRGEM also builds x-ray machines that other companies rebrand and sell.

Medic Cloud and DRGEM

Since 2010, we have installed and maintained over 300 DRGEM x-ray machines across Australia. We offer the full range of DRGEM products, which caters to various types of clinics, including:

We choose DRGEM for two reasons:

  1. They have a great product that can deliver on the requirements of the industry with low radiation doses.
  2. Their commitment to grant us access to their research and development teams. For instance, the x-ray machines used in veterinary or radiology practices have distinct requirements. Our collaboration with DRGEM allows us to request dynamic changes, product improvements. and customise x-ray machines to meet Australian industry conditions.

Our collaboration with DRGEM

As Medic Cloud, we are proud to have contributed to this success. Some of our prominent product collaborations with DRGEM include:

Wall bucky and tube stand optimisation

When we first engaged DRGEM, we noticed that the wall bucky and tube stand were not optimised for Australian demographics. It needed to be adjustable so it can be positioned higher for taller people. We requested adjustments to increase the height of the tube stands and wall buckys.

Overcoming x-ray room constraints

We identified that certain chiropractic clinics had limited space for x-ray machines. By collaborating with DRGEM, we developed a ‘short-arm system’ suitable for smaller rooms. Our smallest room installation measures 1.6 meters wide by 2.2 meters long, providing adequate space for performing a full spinal series of x-rays.

Given that some sites lack easy access to 3-phase power, especially in remote and rural locations, we needed a solution that did not impact output power or require frequent battery changes. We designed a single-phase capacitor assist system to address this issue. Thanks to our bulk buying power, we managed to reduce the cost of this system to be on par with a 3-phase system, despite its higher initial expense.

DRGEM x-ray machine advantages

The most obvious advantages of DRGEM systems we have observed over the years include:

Compatibility

DRGEM x-ray machines are backward and forward compatibility. For example, if you have a machine from 2010 and need to upgrade, the new components will be compatible with your existing system. This means you can upgrade your machine at a lower cost without having to purchase a new system.

We can also integrate digital radiography (DR) panels into systems from 2010 or 2012, providing the same features and benefits of a brand-new machine. The system’s integration ensures that their DR panels and generators communicate effectively, reducing manual input and entries. This streamlined process not only makes x-ray operations more efficient but also enables clinics to complete a full spinal series in under two minutes.

RADMAX software system

The RADMAX software features as a standard install on all of the DRGEM systems. The software gives provision to an intuitive user interface that allows users to navigate the features of the system and achieve great x-ray results.

Exciting features of the RADMAX software include:

  • A graphical user interface, which guides the user to capture x-rays of the different areas of the subject e.g. human anatomy
  • Users navigate the system quickly without delays with native button designs and quick response times
  • The ability to stitch together x-ray images to create a full spine x-ray image. Watch a video on how to stitch images.

Commitment to support

DRGEM have over 40 expert engineers involved in the development and refinement of their products. They also have a worldwide support network, which allows us to support parts quickly with minimal downtime in an emergency.
